All-Star Game Recap
Summer 2018 Competitive Division
It was an exciting night of basketball as we had our All-Star game for both our Mens Competitive and Womens Competitive Divisions. Teams were made with players from each of the different nights joining together to form the East and West rosters.
In our Women’s All-Star game, both teams came out strong, each scoring 17 points in the opening quarter. The East slowly made their presence felt as they outscored the West 35 to 19 in the next two quarters. They had out rebounded the West 40 to 31 in the game while also scoring 6 more three’s. The final score was 60 - 49 for the East, led by All-Star MVP Jill Stratton scoring 15 points on 7 for 10 shooting.
Over at our Men’s All-Star game, we saw a tight contested game between the two teams. With neither team giving way, the deciding factor was the amount of free throw attempts. The West had visited the charity stripe 19 times, converting 11 of their attempts, while the East had only 10 trips the entire game. Josh Graham’s 24 points just came up short as it was not enough to overcome the deficit as it came down to the last possession. The Western All-Stars took the dub with a score of 72 - 70, behind an MVP performance by Greg Edelsward who scored 15 and 8.
