Rocksteady defeat Omega for Comp. Finals

Kotorobai leads Rocksteady over Omega

Basketball World Toronto's Summer League 2014 - Competitive Sunday Division finished up this past Sunday August 24th, 2014 at Ryerson Mattamy Athletic Centre.  The finals were a matchup of arch rivals and #1 seed, Omega vs. the #2 seed Rocksteady.

The game was an evenly matchup of two powerhouses in the Men's Competitive Division - Sunday Night League.  Omega were led by #1 Kwadwo Sarfo and #11 Nat Cooke.  Rocksteady were led by #12 Eugene Kotorbai and #6 Nabil Ibrahim.  At the half, Triumph led 34-12.  As the second half got under way, Omega made a big comeback closing the gap to 10 at one point, but as the final second wound down, Rocksteady pulled out the win 51-39 to take Basketball World Toronto's Summer League 2014 - Competitive Division - Sunday Night Championship.

Playoff & Finals MVP was #12 Eugene Kotorobai from Rocksteady who finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists.

Run N' Gun defeat Lone Survivors in Finals

Hunter leads Run N' Gun to the victory

Basketball World Toronto's Summer League 2014 - Competitive Thursday Division finished up last week on Thursday August 21st, 2014 at Ryerson - Kerr Hall Gym.  The finals were a matchup of the #1 seed Run N' Gun vs. the #3 seed Lone Survivors.

The game was a repeat of the regular season classic.  Run N' Gun were led by #3 Tarek Khalid and #8 Matt Hunter.  Lone Survivors were led by #1 Evan Dell Aquila and a balanced attack from his teammates.  At the half, Triumph led 34-25.  As the second half got under way, Lone Survivors started to close the gap.  However, as the final seconds wound down, Run N' Gun maintained there lead and won 59-45 to take Basketball World Toronto's Summer League 2014 - Competitive Division - Thursday Night Championship.

Playoff & Finals MVP was #8 Matt Hunter from Run N' Gun who finished with 17 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists.

Great summer fun for all Summer Camp participants

BWT Youth Summer Camps offered boys and girls a high quality basketball setting to learn and develop their skills in the game of basketball. The goal of the camps was to focus on teaching the core fundamental skills required to play basketball. The camps consisted of daily training sessions, practice sessions, small competitions and games to help each camper with their own development. Over 60 campers participated in these high energy and exciting camps, learing all areas of the game including defense, conditioning, footwork, dribbling, ball handling, and shooting. Thanks to all of the coaches and participants this summer.​
