The Artists defeat Lemonade to take the Championship
The Summer 2016 Women's Division came to its conclusion on Monday as The Artists demolished Lemonade 79-59 to become the Champions.
Don't let the score fool you, both these teams fought hard and demonstrated a high level of class, respect and sportsmanship towards one another. However, The Artists slick passing and supreme rebounding was too much for Lemonade and that's what led to their loss in the end as The Artists dished out 15 assists and grabbed a total of 38 rebounds. Lemonade tried to launch a comeback in the fourth quarter, but it was too little and too late.
Thumbs up to Jill Stratton who scored 25 points, grabbed 13 boards and dished out 5 assists en route to winning the Finals MVP. By setting the tone early, she demonstrated excellent leadership and character, which is expected of the Team Captain. Well done Jill!
