Dynasty grind out a close-win in the Winter 2016 Women's Competitive Final
Dynasty closed out a wonderful season in the Winter 2016 Competitive Women’s Division with a 59-53 win over Tronin’ Yo to win the championship. Malissa Lundgren shot 50% from the field scoring 12 points while grabbing 8 boards and dishing out 6 assists in an MVP performance. On the other side, May Kostopolous scored a game high 24 points, 12 of which she got from downtown.
It was no surprise to see these two teams in the finals as they finished 1st and 2nd respectively with identical 7 and 2 records. It was always going to be a close game as Dynasty’s league-leading offence was pitted against Tronin’ Yo’s 3-point danger as they knocked down 59 threes on the season, which also led the league. In the end it came down to which team could make more shots as Dynasty scrapped out a narrow win, despite being a minus 10 on the boards.
Thank you to everyone who participated this year. We enjoyed the great competition that was on display!
