Basketball World Toronto hosted their Winter Youth Tournament on February 24th. 

Over 100 participants came out to the event for a day filled with basketball fun. Each divisions played several friendly competitive games with each other and were concluded with an awards ceremony.

Jr. NBA Competition was held at St. Anthony Catholic School and Timberwolves won the competition with a %100 record. 

Over at St. Mary Catholic Academy, various categories of Skill Development Tournaments were played. The day started off with Girls Tournament, where Lynx swept everyone and became champions with a perfect record. Later on in the older girls, Storm repeated Lynx’s success and held the title with a 3-0 record.

Later on, it was time for the boys to come in. In the younger boys, the Raptors won the title. In the final tournament of the day, Spurs emerged victorious and were crowned champions.

Finally, Competitive Tournament was held at Loretto College. Two different age divisions, U11 and U13 came in to play their Finals games having finished their regular season games. After an exciting day, Jelly won the tournament with a 5-1-1 record at U11. Later on, at the U13 tournament six teams competed to win the championship, and it was the Spartans who clinched the title after a thrilling game against Untouchables that went to double OT! It was a truly exciting with lots of ball games being played and everyone having so much fun! 

The tournament also involved a raffle that players and parents were able to participate by purchasing tickets at the venues. After each tournament there was a raffle draw which the players ended up winning numerous prizes from sporting apparels to Raptors tickets. 

There were also two grand prizes for the raffle; which were authentic signed Kyle Lowry jersey and tickets to a private tasting event at Cactus Club for parents. The prizes went to Halle Blakeman and the family of Daniel Colombo, respectively. We congratulate all the raffle winners and wish they enjoy their prizes. 

BWT's Youth Tournament is a celebratory event at the end of each Youth Season and is held four times a year. Every participant of BWT's programs is invited to come out to the tournament for some friendly competition with each other. Aside from taking part in the festivities, these kids have an opportunity to display their newfound skills and talents in front of many parents, staff and volunteers.
