Strong offensive performances lead the East over the West 83-77

Basketball World Toronto hosted their Men’s Elite Summer 2014 All-Star Game this past Saturday, July 26th at Ryerson’s Mattamy Center. This game featured the best talents in the Elite Division, and proved to be a great showcase talent and sportsmanship.

Both teams came out ready to play in the opening quarter, led by 11-points from the East’s Nathan Skinner. The score at the end of the first was 20-17 for the East All-Stars.

Struggling to find their shots in the second quarter, the East All-Stars found themselves down 43-35 at halftime thanks to a balanced scoring attack from the West featuring 15 points from Theon Reefer.

Despite their struggles in the second quarter, the East were able to get themselves back into the game by knocking down their shots and playing better overall team defense.

Tyrone Mattison of the West squad tried to put his team on his back in the fourth quarter with 12 points, but the East All-Stars would prove to be too much to handle. Nathan Skinner led the way for the East with a game-high 30 points, in addition to Ola Olatunbosums game-high 11 rebounds.

The East would finish the game strong and take the BWT Men’s Elite Summer Division All-Star game with a final score of 83-77.

Taking home the game’s MVP was Karl Frederick with a near triple double, scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals.

BWT would like to congratulate all players on their All-Star selections, their great performances and the entire crowd in attendance.
