The West defeat the East to win the All-Star Game at the ACC

Basketball World Toronto hosted their Men’s Competitive Winter 2014 Division All Star Game on Wednesday April 9th on the Toronto Raptors Main Court at the Air Canada Center.

This game featured the best talent from the Men’s Competitive division, and would prove to be a great showcase of talent for all fans in attendance.

Offense was at a premium in the first half, as both teams struggled early to make shots from the field. Despite the shooting troubles, Tylor Kim (#4) from the East squad was able to dazzle the crowd with a spectacular display of ball control and handles. Despite Tylor’s efforts, the West was able to pull out to an early 16-13 lead and take the lead 29-23 at half. Leading the way for the West was Andre Wilkins (#21), 8 points at half and Tarek Khalid (#5), 6 points.

The East opened the second half with a balanced offensive attack lead by Jorge Miguel Sempere Aracil (#12) and Frank Pankewich (#21) and cut into the lead to trail the West by only 2 points. All momentum the East built in the third quarter was halted in the fourth quarter, as they had difficulty defending the West’s offense attack. Double digit rebound performances for the West by both Andre Wilkins (#21) and Yannick Francis (#15) proved to be too much for the East to handle, as the West took  a commanding lead late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory by 10 points and take home the BWT Men’s Competitive Winter 2014 All Star Game.

Andre Wilkins (#21) of the West All Star’s took home MVP honours with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist and 1 block. BWT would like to congratulate all the players selected to the All Star Game, the fans in attendance and the Toronto Raptors.
