Youth Basketball Coach (Lead or Assistant)

We are looking for Youth Basketball Coaches for our In-Person Training Basketball Programs.

  • Youth Coach - The ideal candidate has direct experience working as a lead coach for youth ages 8-16 in a team setting. 
    • Lead Coach - A Lead Coach has experience supervising assistant coaches as well experience teaching and leading young players in a basketball setting. 
    • Assistant Coach - An Assistant Coach has experience teaching and leading young players in a basketball setting. 
    • Both Lead and/or Assistant Youth Coaches must also have experience leading virtual training calls online including knowledge of the systems to host a virtual call as well as show the ability to problem solve challenges and situations during the call.

  • Youth Rep Coach - The ideal candidate has direct experience working as a lead coach for Rep Teams aged U12-U16 in a performance team setting. 
    • Lead Coach - A Lead Rep Coach has experience supervising assistant coaches as well experience teaching and leading the competitive team in an OBA basketball team setting. 
    • Assistant Coach - An Assistant Rep Coach has experience teaching and leading rep players in an OBA basketball team setting.

GAME COORDINATORS / STAFF

BWT is looking for individuals to become Game Coordinators or Game Staff for our Adult programs. The ideal individual will have a strong basketball knowledge or an interest in the sport, high attention to quality and detail, and a positive and energetic approach to work. This is a paid position for a minimum of 3-4 hours per week and will be required to work in the evenings and/or weekends. For more details check out the full job description listed below.

PLEASE NOTE

This internship application is ONLY for those students who are currently registered in a Canadian Academic Institution and who are registered for an academic program that REQUIRES a mandatory internship requirement that must be completed before receiving your academic credits.  The internship hours must be required during the season in which you are applying for the internship.


WE HAVE THE FOLLOWING INTERNSHIP POSITIONS

An internship with Basketball World Toronto provides students the opportunity to learn and gain valuable work experience during their school-required work term in a grassroots sports organization.  BWT looks for students who have the ability to demonstrate a hard work ethic, knowledge of basketball, and willingness to learn in each of these positions.   The specific hours will be based on the student's educational requirements and the start date of the internship. These internships are honorarium-based internships (the amount to be determined based on the number of hours AND on achieving specific measures).

CoVid-19 Pandemic Working Conditions - Due to the Pandemic these positions would be virtual and the student would work from home until further notice.  There is NO REQUIREMENT to have a student come into the office until return to play programming is running which we anticipate would be at LEAST late Fall 2021 / early Winter 2022.
