Let's begin with one of the more recent limited releases. On December 15th, fashion designer and founder of Fear of God, Jerry Lorenzo, collaborated with Nike to create the Fear of God 1 in a black colourway. While it may not look the part, the Fear of God 1 was actually made to be used as a basketball shoe. Upon its release, PJ Tucker has been the only player to wear them during a game.

Remaining on the street-wear side, Off-White founder Virgil Abloh collaborated with Nike to recreate ten of Nike's most iconic shoes. From the ten sneakers, the black/red Jordan 1 and Hyperdunk have been seen on the hardwood thus far on players such as PJ Tucker and Draymond Green.

2018 also saw the popular high-end street-wear brand known as A Bathing Ape (or Bape) collaborate with Damian Lillard and his Adidas "Dame 4's". While the model of the shoe is exactly the same as any other Dame 4, the colourway showcases Bape's unique camo print and shark teeth along the sides of the sole.

On June 9th of 2018, Jordan Brand collaborated with one of the biggest hip-hop artists in Travis Scott to create his own "Cactus Jack" rendition of the Jordan 4. This sneaker has only been worn on the court by PJ Tucker thus far.

This would not be a traditional basketball shoe-related post without mentioning Kobe Bryant's shoes in some way or another. The street-wear brand "Undefeated" collaborated with Nike to create a new Kobe Prototype. In 2018, DeMar DeRozan wore the exclusive Kobe 1 Protro "Undefeated" on several occasions.

As far as "Hype" sneakers go, Adidas had a big presence on the court in 2018. Players such as Trae Young and Veteran Nick Young, have both sported the Pharell Crazy BYW (Gratitude & Empathy edition) that dropped in December of 2018.

While each of the previously mentioned shoes have been basketball related, Nick Young took his on-court shoe game to uncharted waters by balling in the fashionable Yeezy 500 "Desert Rat'. This sneaker is far from being an athletic sneaker, never mind a basketball shoe.
