Canadians Who Have Declared

OH CANADA!

With an already “stacked” draft class including promising collegiate superstars like Zion Williamson and Ja Morant, Canadians will be making their presence known throughout the 2019 NBA Draft. Thus far, eight Canadians have declared to take part in this year’s draft. Of course, at the top  of the list, is the Duke Freshman and Mississauga’s very own, RJ Barrett. The 18-year-old who is projected to go third overall, averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Toronto’s Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who is the childhood friend of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Los Angeles Clipper’s Rookie, has also declared for the draft. In his Sophomore year with Virginia Tech, the 20-year-old averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4 assists. Montreal, Quebec will also be represented in the draft festivities as Arizona State’s 19-year-old freshman, Luguentz Dort has made his decision to declare. Extending to all ends, Dartmouth native and Iowa State Freshman, Lindell Wellington has also punched his ticket for draft night.

In addition to RJ and Nickeil, Ontario will be extremely well-represented at the draft as Burlington is connected to the Florida State Sophomore, Mfiondu Kabengele and Vanderbilt’s Freshman, Simisola Shittu. Oakville has native ties with the Michigan Freshman, Ignas Brazdeikis, and Aurora has their very own Freshman from the Florida Gators, Andrew Nembhard.
