Men's Competitive Fall 2007 - League Championship Game

BWT Men's Competitive Summer League Champions Red Knights

BWT's Fall 2007 Men's Competitive Championship Game was held on Friday January 4th, 2008 at the Air Canada Centre - Toronto Raptors Home Floor. The game featured the two time champion East Coast vs. Team Ruckers.

The game started off quickly with each team exchanging quick baskets. East Coast broke out to a quick lead behind strong inside scoring from their big men Matej Cresnik (#34) and Jason Stephens (#32). However, Ruckers started to get into a groove and countered back with big scoring attack from their League MVP Durvan Ruglass (#21). By the time half came, Ruckers had built a 5 point margin leading at the half 24-19.

As the second half got under way, Team Ruckers started to pour it on. With Q. Wright (#11) slashing the lane and Nick Thomas (#32) hitting jumpers from the elbow, Ruckers extended their lead to double digits. East Coast built a small comeback behind balanced scoring from Shaun Alie (#21) and Darryl Boucaud (#24). But as the final whistle blew, Ruckers had taken the Championship with a score of 60-46.

The Championship Game MVP went to Durvan Ruglass (#21) shooting 7 for 11 for a total of 17 points, 3 blocks and 8 rebounds.

Men's Competitive Fall 2007 - All-Star Game

BWT Summer League 2009 Men's All Star Champions

BWT's Men's Competitive All-Star Game was held on Thursday November 22nd, 2007 at 8:00PM at the Air Canada Centre - Toronto Raptors Practice Court. The game featured the East All-Stars vs. the West All-Stars in action packed competitive game that went down to the wire.

The game began with the East All-Stars breaking out to a quick lead behind inside scoring from Ryan Steele (#21) with 10 points. The West All-Stars countered with a balanced scoring by Darnell James (#21), Roger Nurse (#34) and Matthew Akelaitis (#32). At the half, the East led the West 40-34.

At half-time, BWT's 3-Point Contest and Dunk Contest were held. In the 3-Point Contest, the finals went to a matchup between Gamecocks - Bojan Hasanagic and Triumphs - Frank Stones. Bojan Hasangic won the competition with 13 3-Pointers as compared to Frank Stones' 5 3-PT's. In the dunk contest, only one name needed to be mentioned. Justin Darlington. Justin closed the dunk contest down and was awarded the championship highlighted by his Vince Carter between the legs windmill dunk which had everyone in the building off their feet in amazement. Each of his 3 dunks were a sight to behold and can only be seen to believe.

In the 2nd half, the All-Star game continued with a see-saw affair with both teams trading baskets and taking the lead. The West All-Stars were led in the 2nd half by Matthew Akelaitis as he slashed through the lane several times and led the fast break. However, the East countered with pin-point passing by Oreine Davis (#23) and Michael Allicock (#15) on the receiving end of several of Oreine's passes.

The East All Stars eventually pulled away with Game MVP Michael Allicock leading the way with 18 points and 6 rebounds hitting key free throws in the dying seconds to pull the game out of reach. Ryan Steele contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Oreine Davis has 9 points and 8 assists and 3 rebounds to lead the East to a 63-60 victory over the West All Stars. Matthew Akelaitis led the West All Stars with 16 points and Darnell James added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
