The award was given to Clayton Hoffman (#6) of Dhillon Litigation. Hoffman took his team all the way to the playoffs to win the championship game against Millenium Research Group, where he scored 14 points, with 2 steals, 2 assists and 11 rebounds. Ranking second place with 3.2 assists per game and averaging 9.6 rebounds per game, he definitely runs the game and takes a leading role to in order to rake in the wins. He has shown us all his motivation towards hard work and teamwork and we have seen the capability he displays in order to get to the top, which is exactly what we look for in an MVP. Bay Street Hoops Basketball League's Spring 2011 Championship Game was held on Monday, June 27th at the George Brown College. The game featured Dhillon Litigation vs. Millenium Research Group as the final game of Bay Street Hoops Basketball League's Spring season, which presents some of the best corporate players in the city of Toronto.
It was an intense start with both teams keeping within a close range to end the first half, with Dhillon in the lead 29-27. Dhillon came back hard to start the second half and quickly gained an 8-point lead by the end of the third quarter. However, MRG caught up and tied up the game at 39-all. For a moment it seemed as if MRG would make a fierce comeback, but it was Dhillon that pulled through and took a strong, comfortable lead in the last quarter to win the game 57-44. The game was led by MVP Clayton Hoffman (#6) who finished with 14 points, 2 steals, 2 assists and 11 rebounds. Along with the help of teammates Rohit Sethi (#34), who scored 16 points, and Alexander Nikoloski (#15) with 14 points, Dhillon took home the Spring 2011 Championship Trophy.

The award was given to Simon Mitchell (#6) of TD Green Rebounding Machine. Mitchell scored 21 points, with 4 steals, 2 blocks, 3 assists and 4 rebounds as his team took a crucial win over SGL Recruitment, bringing them to the semi-finals next week. With only five players and no subs, Mitchell and his team managed to keep a steady lead against SGL. Finishing 7th place in the league, Mitchell lead his team to the near-top as he scored 59 points in the two playoff games. TD will match up against Dhillon Litgation next week to try to seal their spot in the championship game.

Among the top statistic leaders in the league, Clayton ranks 3rd in RPG with 9.6, 6th in SPG and 4th in points at 13.4. He has been a big part on his team, as Dhillon Litigation finished 3rd place in the regular season. We look forward to seeing if Hoffman can help bring his team all the way to the finals for the Championship trophy!

The award was given to David Young (#15) of the Hamilton Group. Young scored 25 points, 3 steals, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 16 rebounds as he tried to bring his team to a lead against Dhillon Ligitation. Although he dominated the game and kept his team neck in neck with Dhillon, the Hamilton Group had an unfortunate last minute loss, as Dhillon took the win 46-44. Young ranks first in the league with an average of 20.7 points per game, as well as 12.3 per game. Young is definitely an asset to the team and has undoubtedly been the reason for many of Hamilton Group's wins this season.
